bloggers bloc?

i don't know what is the deal but i have not felt like blogging in forever! it's the weirdest thing... i'm sure it'll come back to me. i don't think it's cuz of facebook even though i spend plenty of time on there! but you see, at work i need something to fill my time when there's no work to do, and facebook has been the perfect remedy! it's harder to blog at work cuz i get interrupted 50 times. anyways.

so let's talk my car. so far, so perfect. it's so so so nice, i love everything about it! and i love throwing all my cd's and shoes in there. my neighbor saw me changing my shoes one morning and he asked me if i keep a whole closet in there, and truthfully i sort of do :) the satellite radio is pretty fun too except i can never stay on one station for long and i drive myself crazy flipping through 200 channels. i can't wait to wash my car. in fact i purposely got it all muddy this afternoon after the tiny torrential rain passed so that i can wash it super good tomorrow. indeed!

this weekend was so nice. i went fishing out at blackstrap for the day and the weather was so amazing and hot. i felt sooooooo amazingly relaxed and we had such good alone time together. as many of you know, jeff has moved to humboldt. he and 3 other guys bought into a farm equipment business, and there are three stores they own. one is in PA, one in kinistino, and then the one in humboldt. so yes, he's moved there and so far things are going really good for him. humboldt is actually a beautiful little city (it's considered the smallest city in saskatchewan, with 5000 people and growing fast). it's got all the fast food joints and a walmart is coming. so it's not so small town, and it's only an hour away. so yes, for the time being, i am here and he is there. and things are good.

so anyway back to my weekend, you guys i actually really like fishing! i HATE the actual slimy stinky fish, but when you catch one it's sooooooooo exciting and really really fun! i'm quite funny fishing actually, cuz i'm not the conventional, serious fisher... nope i mostly suntan, read, do my sudoku's. and only start fishing once someone else has caught one so that i can catch up. i have a new, upgraded, REAL fishing rod now. after last year's humongo fish i caught, i have graduated to real fishing rod status. so proud. anyway i pretty much freak out whenever a fish is being caught cuz i think it's so disgusting. but it's fun. and i didn't even burn cuz i wore sunscreen all day long. i hope my tan lasts longer than a day. too bad i have to sit indoors from 8:30 to 5 all week long. i HATE THAT.

k what else, what else. my graduation is on wednesday. i'll have to get a pic or two in my grad gown and cap. maybe after that i'll actually feel like i've accomplished something major. that's pretty much the reason i'm going. just to wear the crap, walk across the stage, shake peter's hand (i think i'm gonna ask him for a tour of his gorgeous house) and get that degree. perhaps then it will sink in that i'm not going back in september and that all that work i did the last four years is all summed up in my little piece of paper.
Kristin A Eagle. Bachelor of Arts, Honours. International Studies.
congratulations, self!

so me, jeff, lynnel and my parents went to the new greek restaurant on 3rd ave, katouki tavern i think it's called. it was AMAZING! a bit pricey but QUITE the experience. first off, it's beautiful in there. later on they have belly dancers come through the restaurant and go to each table and try to get you to dance with them! it's super funny. and when you leave you get to smash plates! how great is that? oh i loved smashing plates. it's like therapy! jeff let me smash his plate so i got to do it twice, how nice of him! lynnel took pictures so hopefully one day she'll upload them. quite the experience, i highly recommend it. and dessert was the most delicious dessert i have ever ever had.

k well i am done blogging now. so sorry i have been so non-existent. i guess i am just a little bit boring lately but yes, i'm sure it'll come back to me...

bye now.

for me? why yes!

2007 Chevy Cobalt LTZ Coupe - ALL MINE!

I decided that this post needed some text to this post, so I'm sharing with you my car experience. Now that I am full time and considered permanent at my job (as opposed to student working whatever hours I want!), have a guaranteed income and some stability, it is time to get myself a vehicle. I blew the head gasket in my little sunbird in December and have been relying on the bus, my family, Jeff, friends ('specially Lynnel and Angela!) and a couple people from work here, to get around and it has been verrrrrrrry inconvenient for me and probably for them as well! If you have had the "opportunity" to give me a ride (am I 16? yes i think so), well then I thank you!!!

So I took Friday off (my first PAID holiday day EVER = big deal), and dragged my dad and Jeff all around the city with me. We started off looking at Sherwood Chev and was this close to buying a brand new Aveo... but I just couldn't buy the first car I looked at, plus I wanted to check out the Yaris and the G5. So went to Toyota, ended up test driving a Corolla but guess what guys, I'm not a mom. And I don't need a mom car. The G5 was next, followed by the upgraded G6, both hot hot cars. The G6 was a bit big for me and the G5 was priced right. This close once again.

Jeff from Chev called wanting to know if we were coming back for the Aveo. Boyfriend Jeff tells Chev Jeff that I loved the G5 and that we were getting a really good deal there. Chev Jeff tells BF Jeff that if I would come test drive a Cobalt (the Chev equivalent of the Pontiac G5) that they would give me "a smokin deal" that I couldn't turn down.

Indeed, Chev Jeff was not kidding around! I ended up getting the Cobalt for the same monthly payment as what they had offered me the Aveo for and it's a much cooler car. BF Jeff was amazing at working the price down, and I was sooooo happy to have him and my dad helping me! They were the ones who convinced me to get a two door! They say I have lots of time for practical four doors in the future :) Dad says I'm too cool for a four door right now. haha. thanks dad! I also got a graduate rebate, where Chev pays my first two payments (sooooo great!) AND a $1000 "loyalty" rebate because my dad has the astro van registered in his name! We thought it was hilarious that the 1994 van qualified and not the newer Grand Am, but whatever, I got $1000 bucks off!

So here's the specs for anyone who might care. It's a 2 door, white 2007 Cobalt LTZ with an upgraded stereo (hello it has a 10" sub woofer, and 7 speakers which I think is hilarious! Fergie is going to be working hard!), it has XM satellite radio built into the system, a remote start (YESSSSSSSS BABY!) that detects the temperature and turns the heat/air conditioning on accordingly, and it's an automatic which I wanted. Yes I can drive a standard and yes it may be a bit cooler but I just wasn't in the mood for all that work anymore. It has fog lights, ABS brakes and upgraded wheels which BF Jeff was adamant about getting b/c he is moving (saving for another post) and I will be doing much more highway driving. The only thing I wanted that I didn't get was a sunroof which added another $15/month to my payment and I just decided against it. I told myself I can either have the remote start or the sunroof and I definitely think I'll be happier with a warm car in -40 degree weather. The only thing the Aveo offered that I wanted was an Ipod but I figured I may as well buy myself one if I really wanted it that bad. I don't think I'll need it with all my satellite radio options though! I also get a 5 year/160,000 km powertrain warranty which is AWESOME!

So they are bringing it in for me from who knows where, and I don't get it till Wednesday or Thursday. Until then, I dream about it! And look at it. I am so excited!

Let's take a look from the back, shall we?! Pretend it's white:

oh hi! you're freaking hot!

okay bu bye.

reservations under "hotties"

so i was trying to make this look fun, you know, some pics to the left, some center, some to the right.... it totally didn't work. the funness shines through anyway.
girls night = total success.
there was myself, Lynnel, Jenna + baby Haylie, Kerri, Sarah, Kerilyn + baby Akele, Lilian, Cory + baby Tayah, Laura, Michelle, Danielle, Adrienne, Katie, Coralie, Colette, and Sarah Jane. We went to Alexanders, a perfect place for the start of girls night.
jeff and i actually went there for supper at 6 and i had the most delicious food EVER (my new fav restaraunt, how did i not know how good the food was there???). we were joined by a very creepy man who wouldn't leave us alone but we had a good laugh over it anyway. jeff was outta there as soon as the first girl arrived :)
the kitchen guys called us "the hot table". that was pretty obvious. just check out our hottness:

(Lynnel did so good. she only texted her new boyfriend ONCE! i was so proud.)

not another manic monday!

hello!

i have had a most wonderful day.

my dad and i had eye appointments this morning and we knew half the office, what a laugh. and dad picked out the coolest new glasses for himself. the lady who helped us was such a dear, she continually kept saying, now Blaine, lets try these on! oh Blaine, what do you think of these? every sentence started with Blaine. but she wasn't annoying at all. she was very nice! and also had the hottest glasses on that i had ever seen.

next, i went for brunch with my mom, Jenna, Kyle, Kayden & Haylie and Jenna's mother in law, Beryl. i had the best hash browns ever. and my niece and nephew are the sweetest and most fun ever. kayden is getting a mohawk today. i'm super nervous to see him. i hope its cute.

then mom and i headed to the new walmart and i bought the most random and fun assortment of things. i took a picture for you all to see!

So, here we can see THE most fun little desk organizer i have EVER seen. it's so mini and it fits all my stationary stuff!!! i was very much in love with it from the moment i saw it.

next we have my plastic magazine/file organizers. MUCH needed, as i have some cardboard ones from IKEA and these are much sturdier.
then we have my tide to go stain remover! how fun! what a great thing for my purse. i can't wait to get a stain. hopefully not too big of one though!

and finally, my puffs to go Ultra tissues, which i actually came in a pack of 6. they are perfect for home, car, purse, work and school bag! ah!

not pictured here, i bought some Olay face toner and a huge box of Special K, but i didn't feel like going upstairs to retrieve those items. but they are not forgotten.

i spent much time looking at cds and pondered so long over which one to buy that i did not buy any. i considered many options. i looked at Keane (i have recently fallen hard for this band - check out a song called "bedshaped". i have the live version on my myspace but its better not live), The Fray, Goo Goo Dolls, Fergie, City & Color, and Gwen Stefani. then i thought about replacing my old cranberries cd that is long lost and was a favorite. couldn't decide so came home with nothing. hahaha. i ruled out fergie and gwen only because i was looking for a cd that Jeff would actually like listening to in the car on our drive to Edmonton. anyone have any other suggestions???

oh yes and Rascal Flatts on Friday night was sooooooooooooo awesome. here's a pic of jenna and I before the show:

we had wicked seats. I have some videos from Jenna's camera (I FORGOT MY CAMERA!!! i was so mad), but i will upload those on youtube and post them later. jenna has been bugging me to do this for forever. oops. my favs were My Wish, Broken Road and What Hurts the Most. oh yah and "skin" although i normally am totally sick of that song. performances are always different though. they make the songs come to life. it was completely amazing. they are 3 extremely extremely talented guys.
there was a gong show after the concert but i amn't (i wish that was a word. i use it secretly in my head all the time) going to get into that now. lets just say it involved missing out on hanging with the guys from Rascal Flatts at the Longbranch (okay not that they would talk to me but still, they were there and i coulda been too. who knows maybe i could've had a two step from one of them!) because i was too busy in the parking lot with a verrrrrrrry unhappy boyfriend, a non-existent tow truck and a part of the car on the ground that was supposed to be attached to the car. yep. not good.

well now that my day is half over and i haven't started my reading for my night class on tuesday, i am officially doomed. so i must go before i spend most of the night awake reading World Bank reports.

And America's Next Top Model starts again Wed night!!! YESSSSssssssssssssssssssssss.

i have saved up mega bucks for my edmonton trip (we leave thursday) so i am totally pumped to go shopping at Jacob, forever 21, the Aldo outlet, Ikea, MEC (we're getting new camping equip), and ALLLLLLllllllllllllll those other fabulous stores saskatoon doesn't have. yet. i am firmly believing that i can branch out from my regular "simple classic" style (aka boring. my shirt in the pic above shows this in and out) (my earrings are cool though. but they are jenna's!) and get a few pieces that are more exciting and slightly more trendy. not too trendy of course. no no, not me. i am not flashy! but even just a few accessories (earrings and headbands are on my list) and shoes will do the trick. and i totally want something polka dot. mmhmm. yummy.

okay world bank reports here i am.

bubye friends.

ride em cowboy

greys anatomy was fantastic as always. i knew she would be okay. i loved the last moment with izzie and denny. and the last moments the chief had with merideth's mom. the "heaven/in merideths mind" thing was a little strange at first but i really got what they were doing. my mom predicted very early in the show that her mom would die and meet her there and she was soooo right. when merideths mom told her she was anything but ordinary... well done, well done. so emotional.

i also watched the series finale of the o.c. and it was really good. ctv didn't think it was good enough to show so i had to watch it at 11 pm on Fox. stupid ctv. i was so happy they went into the future and showed seth and summer get married. such closure :) but i'm okay with the o.c. ending. i hardly watched it at all the last two seasons. some day maybe i'll rent the dvds and watch them in the summer or something.

i wrote a paper ALL day yesterday and I had a midterm too. i dropped my paper off at the university at 10:30 pm b/c i knew i wouldn't have a chance to today. i made my dad come with me. i didn't want to go missing or anything. its scary there late at night! i managed to write a midterm, write my paper all day, take a break for greys, write for another hour, go to the uni and be home in time for the o.c. it was a very busy day! i missed my little bro's concert at walkers nite club (hello how is it that he is playing at night clubs??? he's 17!). anyway i heard it was a good time. sometimes i can't wait to not be a student anymore. my evenings will be free! and i'll have a SALARY! wow. what a thought.

jenna and i are going to Rascal Flatts tonight, sitting in the 15th row on the floor! its gonna be so awesome. i better get my camera all charged up. Yeeeee haww. i love country music! afterwards i am meeting up with Tanis and Regan for some white chocolate brownie at Moxies. delicious. what an almost perfect day (besides having to work!).

to make it even more perfect, jeff suprised me and took me out for lunch today. it was so nice! i was going to eat some yogurt and 2 oranges for lunch and instead i got a clubhouse wrap and salad. and it was especially nice to have a cup of coffee to help me make through the afternoon. today seems like my lucky day - free tix to an awesome concert, it was casual day at work today (yay jeans!), a suprise lunch, jenna making me lasanga for supper (yummmmm), and favorite girls to hang out with. maybe i should buy a lotto ticket too!

k bye ya'll!

back to my home i dare not go

okay so I have had my facebook account for a couple months now, and I don't really get it. apparently it's the hottest thing since myspace. I'm not sure how many more internet networking sites I can sign up for before I reach my personal quota of stupidness. anyway if anyone can explain why facebook is the bomb, please, do tell.

as you all know, I went to The Farm this weekend. I feel like I've titled it by starting it with capitals. I think that is nice. anyway, it was...... very boring. Jeff went snowmobiling ALLLLLLLLLL effing day on Saturday and I did absolutely nothing. I watched TV from 9:30 am till 7:30 pm. at one point I managed to get off my spot on the couch and go outside for half an hour to go pet baby cows which was really kind of cute. I would've taken some pictures but I hadn't managed to get off my lazy bum and have a shower so pictures were out of the question. but this one little guy was super feisty and I was a little worried he was going to butt me with his little cow head and chase me around the barn so I kind of kept my distance from him. her I mean. I was dealing with baby cows here people, not baby bulls. I'm not completely nutzo. so these baby calfs, they're really even more gentle than a puppy and yet here I was, nervous around them. they make the loudest moooooos. I jumped a little every time. I was glad nobody was in the barn to watch me. cuz I'm a total loser when I'm all by myself. aren't we all?

there were no new baby kittens this time. I was quite disappointed.

so at 7:30 Jeff's cousin came and picked me up and I was more than relieved. we headed over the a little town bar. every time I go to "the country bar" I feel like I'm in an old country western movie. small, wood cabin like feel with 100 people packed inside and the jukebox a'wailin and the vlt's cha'chinging. it was alright. its not too often I hang out with Jeff's friends without him there but I was glad when he finally did arrive. cuz I freaking missed him after my loonnnnnnng boring day.

Sunday I tried to do a little more than just sit there and I managed to get out a little bit. it was really a beautiful weekend. I'm such a wimp though and I just did not feel like snowmobiling. I kind of think maybe I should have. for some reason I am just scared crapless of being on the stupid machine and I don't have that much fun on them. unless I'm driving, then I'm in charge and feel a bit more secure. I think one particular day - "Sunday S
nowday From Hell" - screwed up my perception of snowmobiling :) anyway I have snowmobiled since that day (Feb 05), I just wasn't feeling it this weekend. next time i will! Jeff and i decided that we are both adventurous but in different ways - i am "explorative" adventurous, as in I like traveling and backpacking across europe is right up my ally, and he is "danger-seeking" adventurous, as in bungee jumping and whatever else. i think we'd be a funny team for "The Amazing Race."

i watched two movies this weekend - Jeff bought me "The Devil Wears Prada" and i have been meaning to watch this since it came out which was FOREVER ago! i loved it. Meryl streep was fantastic in it. very funny. not an academy award winning storyline but light and fun and girly.

...4 kristin stars!
"The Illusionist" - okay i am sorry but i could NOT stop comparing it to The Prestige which i absolutely loved. i wish i had seen this one first so that i could love Prestige even more, but no, sadly I liked Prestige much better. i know i know, they have a completely different story line but the whole magic thing, well it was really the same and was just ASKING to be compared! STILL, I REALLY LIKED THIS MOVIE! after about an hour...when it picked up :)
...3.5 kristin stars!
its just that i would give The Prestige 4.9 kristin stars. true fact.

and i thought this was gonna be a quick blog.

okay so today was Monday and Saskatchewan's first ever FAMILY DAY which in my opinion is a real treat. i think us prairie people suffer enough throughout January and February. we need like an entire week off, and i don't just mean the students. the govt should treat us all to a week off in Mexico.

and with that thought i shall turn on my glorious electric blanket so that i can fall asleep and dream of white sandy beaches and blue sunny skies. goodnight my bloggers, sweet dreams.

p.s. and, um, Edmonton lost the game against Vancouver (???) on Saturday night and i cried remorseful tears. (*******lies).

day two

oh boy the oilers lost last night. too bad so sad. but at least i didn't forget to blog about it. cuz thats the deal (see "THE CHALLENGE" below).

okay anyway i'm going to home with jeff this weekend to his parents' farm. have a great LONNNNNNNNNNG weekend, ya'll. i get to see baby calfs and play with new kittens. so cute.

bubye bloggers!

synopsis

ohhhhhhhhh scrumptious, i just ate a Lindors dark chocolate and it was soooooooooo divine. yummmmy. it came in my Christmas stocking. thanks Santa.

so last night lynnel and sarah kidnapped me because apparently i don't go out enough. i was enjoying my quiet night on the couch with jeff watching Las Vegas, Law & Order and finally the boring Oilers game (he is still trying to make a fan out of me). so we got all sexy'd up and went to 2nd Ave Grill for some Friday night special $4.50 martinis. here is our fine array of choices: Nice Melons, Oh My God, the Mighty Aphrodite, Bert & Ernie, and Malibu Stacy. they were fun and so pretty because they came with orchids in them. then we find out the kitchen was closed (this is what reminds us Saskatoon is NOT the big city), Lynnel asked for "just a little snack" and batted her eyelashes and the guy brings out a bowl of soup and foccasia bread for her. and didn't charge her. that's what you get for being a pretty girl i guess.

then we headed over the the new tapas bar, Barking Fish, sooooooooo metro, sexy little place, so Sarah can say hello to a special someone and so Lynnel can flir - i mean "be friendly" with people - some more (he he he she is going to kill me when she reads this!) and so i can sit in between them at the bar and smile helplessly. ever felt that way? indeed. i just just mention - lynnel's my fav girl. i love her.

we didn't stay long as it was already 1:30 am and we still had a movie to watch. so we head over to Lynnel's place and watch "The Last Kiss" on her big screen. oh The Last Kiss. oh Zach Braff, oh Rachel Bilson, or Bison as i called her once by accident. interesting movie. rather sad, thought provoking, and you just want to smack all the guys in it. it is about a group of 29 year old guys who don't want to grow up. the one guy leaves his wife and kid, the other guy cheats on his pregnant girlfriend, so on and so on... good movie, kind of sad and kind of funny, and it ended well. not a "must see" but definitely not a disappointment. it was not the cute, girly movie i thought it was going to be. off beat, like Garden State was.

i got home at 4 am. FOUR AM!

slept till 1:30 pm. still half asleep here.

that's all for now.

tonight - amigos at 9 for some mexican and later on, part-ay for jeff's cousin's bday

ai ai ya yai, in china they never grow chilly

LAST DAY OF CLASSES TODAY!!!!

you guys i'm seriously thinking i might actually make it through! i don't know how many times i told lynnel i was going to drop out of school and she would just laugh oh haha haha ha. ha. ha. not. so. funny. when. i'm. half. serious. (do the periods emphasize that sentence or are they just distracting???) (i like them).

i have one more paper to write... by midnight tonight...that i haven't started...but you know what, THAT IS OKAY! i don't care. it might be a teensy bit late. but still okay.

so i'm soooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to just going to work and coming home AND GET A DECENT PAYCHECK, and not having stuff to worry about! school stuff stays with me day after day after day. i dream about it. it comes with me on my weekends. books lay piled up on my bed and on my desk. the computer never shuts off. papers are everywhere. i LOATHE this.

work on the other hand, ends at 5 pm SHARP.

i am so excited. i'm going to watch all my girl movies over the holidays. my chick flick movie collection includes:

The Notebook
In Her Shoes
Bridget Jones' Diary
Bridget Jones' DiarY: The Edge of Reason

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days

I'm going to watch them all over the holidays. I'm so mad at myself, i was at walmart on saturday and "Mean Girls" was $12 and i didn't buy it..... and there were only 2 copies left, so i'm sure its gone by now. biggest mistake of my weekend. that'd be a great christmas present if anyone wants to buy me it. hehe. i love that movie. i loved the old lindsay lohan. now she is one of my favorite people to see on "go fug yourself". her and mary-kate olson. J'ADORE that funny little website! go check out the one today its laugh out loud. LOL!

k so i have exams coming up but i am at peace with exams. i like them better than mad paper writing. and guess what i have the BEST day ever planned for next monday. i'm getting a massage in the morning. at 1 i'm off to the spa for THREE glorious hours, for a pedicure, spa manicure and aromatherapy massage (my birthday present from jeff). now, 2 massages in one day seems a little crazy but i wanted the real deal cuz my back feels like bricks, so a real one is in order here. i'll definitely be relaxed for studying. i was thinking about getting an eyebrow wax that day too. then i should finish off with getting my hair done. but thats a little overboard since it doesn't really need a cut yet. and i usually only get highlights when i'm absolutely dying over my roots and i'm not there yet. january i will be there. mmm can't wait for monday.

kayden got his little teeth fixed today and he was at the hospital in regina and he told kyle "i like these pajamas daddy, i didn't know i got to wear pajamas here!" regarding the hospital scrubs they put you in. he came through the surgery a little groggy but he just thought it was a fun family trip to regina, which is so cute. he couldn't wait to go watersliding. imagine if he wrecked his teeth the same night? oh dear. don't tell jenna i said that.

can't wait for the weekend to watch the christmas presentation and hang with alison and leon. and lynnel and i are dying for some quality time, although we did have some on friday night at Moxies with 2 bad-girl desserts and some fancy girly drinks. then chad and aaron came to intrude on girl time. but i can't really blame them. i suppose we did call them. can't get too mad.

my christmas wish list (besides 'mean girls') - shopping spree. and that super soft baby pink robe from la senza. pure luxery. please jeff come through for me. a calander. slippers. love. trip to jamaica. is that really too much to ask?

love to all.

Friday, February 10, 2006

yesterday i had my night class and my biggest presentation of the year. when i got to the university, i stopped at tim horton's for a tea and i didn't have enough for a large, but the girl didn't care, and she gave it to me anyway. that was so nice! funny thing is, i did have a $10 bill in my wallet, but she didn't see that. i didn't want to break it, just for 25 cents!

anyway then i went to my class, and i think our presentation went really well. i was nervous up until the time that i actually had to talk, and once i started i felt just fine. i pretended like i was talking to lynnel, or my mom. :) really, i did that!!! it was a conscious decision, and it helped me. (lynnel will be so happy to hear that!). plus i think my tea drinking made me feel nice and calm inside. so i should get my mark back some time this week.

right after my presentation, the fire alarm started going off. at first, we were all just sort of trying to ignore it, but then when we saw all the other classes leaving the building, we all packed up, and stood outside for 10 minutes, before we decided to just go to the health sciences building and finish up class there. we went to the cafeteria there and thought how nice it would be to have class there every week. it's all set up with round booths around a round table, and its so casual. another girl did her presentation in there, and i was thinking she was so lucky because we were all in there with our feet up and lounging so comfy. but she was so super nervous, she had the whole shaky hand thing going on, which is the ultimate indicator of nervousness. i'd WAY rather have shaky voice than shaky hands.

anyway, i can't tell you how much better i feel having that over with. my presentation was all about HIV/AIDS and how it specifically affects women and girls. this topic is my absolute favoritist topic in all development. not that it makes me happy, b/c it's so sad, but that i find it so interesting, and it's incredibly vital. so anyway, it's all over now!

next week is reading week. i am working full time Monday to Wednesday, and then i have two glorious days off. not that they will be glorious, because i truly have great plans to write TWO full essays. i need a topic for one of them yet. anything to do with western world religions - Judaism, Christianity or Islam. does anyone have any questions about one of these religions that i could perhaps to do a little research for?

so this weekend isn't too exciting. jeff and i were going to go with jenna and kyle to the mansion-cabin this weekend but it didn't work out, sadly. kayden called me this morning, asking for me specifically, to ask me if he could go see baby Ashton (his cousin - on the other side of the family, obviously). i was like, ummmm sure? jenna didn't know why he felt like he specifically needed to ask his auntie kristin if it was okay but i gave him my blessing to go see baby Ashton.

Weekend Fun

High time for a new blog I think.

I had a weekend without Jeff which was a little bit unusual for me. I'm very used to him being away during the week with his job, which works out fine for me because I'm busy with school. But he's always home on the weekends! However this weekend, the Oilers and the Riders took precedence over little me. Both teams lost, which serves him right for going without me :) haha, just kidding, I'm glad he had a weekend with his friends because I had a fun weekend with my friends. Friday some of us played Ramolie and I kicked butt when in the last hand I got the
7-8-9 combo. Quite exciting, I was like, shaking with excitement, truly.

Saturday, Cory and I went shopping at Superstore, and I found out that something I had bought there last month had gone on sale, bigtime... I had the receipt with me in my purse and after a little bit of arguing with Customer Service and having a little chat with her supervisor, I got a return of $79.00. That felt good.

And Saturday night we started off with a girls poker night (our first ever... there will be more where that came from!), and then the boys came and invaded our night with "ooh ooh let me see what you got"," don't do that", and basically telling us how to play.... they couldn't help themselves, I understand that. But still, next girls poker night will be strictly that. girls. and a big sign on the door, no boys allowed.

sunday afternoon jeff came home and he spent most of the afternoon sleeping on my couch with another football game on, but i was just happy to have him home again.

but my weekend sans jeff was nice none-the-less.

something else exciting that has happened this weekend is that i bought a fish! my very own, separate than my dad's fancy fish tank in the family room. no this guy is in his own special bowl in my room. he's truly beautiful. he's a turquoise chinese fighter fish. i am yet to name him, but lynnel came up with a good one - Rex. i think i like that name, but i'm still open to suggestions.
i love him. i wish he could cuddle like edwin could but since my mom isn't allergic to this guy, he's all i get for now. i'll take a picture soon and put him on here for all to see.

well i best get back to work now, SEE YA....

i just stopped this blog just so i could play a round. but i'm back now.

so i'm pleased that it is friday. not that i have big plans this weekend or anything. jeff and i are going to the air show on saturday, but that's about it. last weekend was more fun because we went to the Ex and saw the chuckwagons and the demolition derby. OH MAN i just love those car derby's and i love the chuckwagons. it was too much fun for one day. we were there from 2:00 when the chuckwagons started, till about 10:00pm, when the derby ended. in between we did all the other Ex stuff you have to do. and jeff bought me a $5.00 caramel apple. yummy.

great so this is another blog that is going nowhere...

blog of the week: jenna's latest post. it's all over the place but i enjoyed it a lot.

so thats all for now, i think mah jong has dulled my brain.
