i'm a university graduate! wahhhoooooooo! i convocate on june 6th, you're all invited!

now it's time for me to buy a fabulous car! i am going to the bank next week to be pre-approved and then i'm offfffff baby to the dealerships. call me crazy, or just 'mom', but i want a four door automatic... i'm so done with 2 doors and stick shifts. give me something i can eat a freaking sandwhich with while i drive and let people in the backseat without having to crawl all over the seats. thanks. i actually like jenna's ford focus so much and i might get one of those, also looking at a toyota yaris and a honda civic. all i really want is air conditioning and a cd player. it's really that simple!

i'm excited. i can't wait to have freedom again. i can't wait to go home for lunch sometimes. i can't wait to go to jenna's new house for lunch to see my favorite kids in the world. and go to the mall whenever i want. yesssssssssssssss. i've been such a loser since january. i can't wait to lose my loserness. it's gonna be great.

that's all i gots to say right now.

Mac or Dell?

i'm buying myself a laptop as a grad gift to myself. i have only needed one for 4 years. i've got my lovely IBM but i find PCs to be rather anti-mobile. i just can't picture myself lugging my computer to night class each week. not that i will have night class anymore starting in THREE WEEKS! woot woot! anyway, still want a laptop and looking for some advice/opinions:

mac or dell? dell or mac?

hi kristin, i am cute little Apple iBook! look how sweet i would look at your desk. i'm so pretty and girly and have many creative options. i love to do fun things with your photos, videos, and webpages. i am a perfect companion to a young hot chick like yourself on the go as you enter a new career. i'm as clean as they come - never a virus for me! buy me because you and i are meant to be together! never mind that i cost so much! its okay. i'm cute. cute cute cute.

hi apple ibook, you look like so much fun i could eat you right up. HOT. HOT. HOT. (also nevermind that i don't exactly have a new career. yet.) i must decide if i only like you for your looks. are you as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside?
are you truly worth the extra effort i must put into paying for you? ibook. i think you are to me like izzie is to george. beautiful on the outside. stacked. a supermodel. my best friend. but probably not right for me???

hi kristin i am Inspiration 6400 dual core from Dell. you will love how much hardrive and memory i have for half the price of snobby ibook up there. i am fast, efficient and come with many free features. i am definitely the one for you. just think how professional you will look toting hot little silver me around. and guess what, i am just as skinny as snobbook above - i only weigh 6 lbs. furthermore, "inspiration" is even a better name than "ibook" - it speaks of your future, bright and successful, with me by your side.

hi inspiration 6400, i like you too. you're cheaper and somewhat cute. you have more memory and hardrive and its not that you're ugly. you simply don't have the same "presence" that ibook gives off. i am probably going to buy you, just don't be too jealous of my love affair with apple ibook. i love you for your beautiful inside, as the princess loved the frog. perhaps we just need a chance to get to know each other better.

any opinions (and not about me going to the crazy people place)???

this is the kind of thing i do when i have 2 essays due tomorrow and thus far i have 4 pages. but i always pull through! and with honors at that!

BU-BYE FRIENDS!

p.s. get this, i just booked my wisdom teeth pulling day for May 15, 2008! what is THAT? i think i should set an alarm on my cell phone in case i forget!

p.p.s. IBM COMPUTER FOR SALE..... i'll maybe post an "ad" later on sometime.

back to my home i dare not go

okay so I have had my facebook account for a couple months now, and I don't really get it. apparently it's the hottest thing since myspace. I'm not sure how many more internet networking sites I can sign up for before I reach my personal quota of stupidness. anyway if anyone can explain why facebook is the bomb, please, do tell.

as you all know, I went to The Farm this weekend. I feel like I've titled it by starting it with capitals. I think that is nice. anyway, it was...... very boring. Jeff went snowmobiling ALLLLLLLLLL effing day on Saturday and I did absolutely nothing. I watched TV from 9:30 am till 7:30 pm. at one point I managed to get off my spot on the couch and go outside for half an hour to go pet baby cows which was really kind of cute. I would've taken some pictures but I hadn't managed to get off my lazy bum and have a shower so pictures were out of the question. but this one little guy was super feisty and I was a little worried he was going to butt me with his little cow head and chase me around the barn so I kind of kept my distance from him. her I mean. I was dealing with baby cows here people, not baby bulls. I'm not completely nutzo. so these baby calfs, they're really even more gentle than a puppy and yet here I was, nervous around them. they make the loudest moooooos. I jumped a little every time. I was glad nobody was in the barn to watch me. cuz I'm a total loser when I'm all by myself. aren't we all?

there were no new baby kittens this time. I was quite disappointed.

so at 7:30 Jeff's cousin came and picked me up and I was more than relieved. we headed over the a little town bar. every time I go to "the country bar" I feel like I'm in an old country western movie. small, wood cabin like feel with 100 people packed inside and the jukebox a'wailin and the vlt's cha'chinging. it was alright. its not too often I hang out with Jeff's friends without him there but I was glad when he finally did arrive. cuz I freaking missed him after my loonnnnnnng boring day.

Sunday I tried to do a little more than just sit there and I managed to get out a little bit. it was really a beautiful weekend. I'm such a wimp though and I just did not feel like snowmobiling. I kind of think maybe I should have. for some reason I am just scared crapless of being on the stupid machine and I don't have that much fun on them. unless I'm driving, then I'm in charge and feel a bit more secure. I think one particular day - "Sunday S
nowday From Hell" - screwed up my perception of snowmobiling :) anyway I have snowmobiled since that day (Feb 05), I just wasn't feeling it this weekend. next time i will! Jeff and i decided that we are both adventurous but in different ways - i am "explorative" adventurous, as in I like traveling and backpacking across europe is right up my ally, and he is "danger-seeking" adventurous, as in bungee jumping and whatever else. i think we'd be a funny team for "The Amazing Race."

i watched two movies this weekend - Jeff bought me "The Devil Wears Prada" and i have been meaning to watch this since it came out which was FOREVER ago! i loved it. Meryl streep was fantastic in it. very funny. not an academy award winning storyline but light and fun and girly.

...4 kristin stars!
"The Illusionist" - okay i am sorry but i could NOT stop comparing it to The Prestige which i absolutely loved. i wish i had seen this one first so that i could love Prestige even more, but no, sadly I liked Prestige much better. i know i know, they have a completely different story line but the whole magic thing, well it was really the same and was just ASKING to be compared! STILL, I REALLY LIKED THIS MOVIE! after about an hour...when it picked up :)
...3.5 kristin stars!
its just that i would give The Prestige 4.9 kristin stars. true fact.

and i thought this was gonna be a quick blog.

okay so today was Monday and Saskatchewan's first ever FAMILY DAY which in my opinion is a real treat. i think us prairie people suffer enough throughout January and February. we need like an entire week off, and i don't just mean the students. the govt should treat us all to a week off in Mexico.

and with that thought i shall turn on my glorious electric blanket so that i can fall asleep and dream of white sandy beaches and blue sunny skies. goodnight my bloggers, sweet dreams.

p.s. and, um, Edmonton lost the game against Vancouver (???) on Saturday night and i cried remorseful tears. (*******lies).

Poll

What do you think when you see something (i.e. a letter, or the end of a blog for instance) signed,

"Love Me."

Do you think it is a cry for love? like i am asking you to love me more?

or do you think of it as "love from me" ????

i must know. i'll explain after i hear from a few of you.

(i have my last final exam in 1.5 hours, and this is what is weighing on my mind? strange, i know.)

my new favorite website

A Fug Affair
I would love to have been at the Simpson Family Meeting where it was decided that Jessica ought to wear this little number
:

MA SIMPSON: What should Jessica wear to that Yahoo! thing tomorrow?
PA SIMPSON: Pasties!
MA SIMPSON: No.
PA SIMPSON: Hot pants!
MA SIMPSON: Not again. What about a slinky little cocktail number?
ASHLEE SIMPSON: Um, I totally hate to be a bitch, but am I the only person who's noticed that she looks like she's been living on a steady diet of KFC lately?
MA SIMPSON: Look, Ashlee, for the last time: we are not sending her out there dressed like Buckethead.
ASHLEE SIMPSON: That is not what I meant! She's totally been riding the lard pony, you guys! We were all at the Simpson Family Weigh-In this morning. You saw her charts. She's so gained weight since we booted Lachey!
JESSICA SIMPSON: (silent due to laryngitis, gives Ashlee dirty look, throws a highlighter at her head, gives her the finger.)
ASHLEE SIMPSON: You guys NEVER thought this would happen! DID YOU? NO! You NEVER thought I would be the hot one! AT LAST! THE STICKS OF BUTTER I HAVE BEEN WHIPPING INTO HER NUTRA SLIM SHAKES ARE WORKING! I HAVE FINALLY DEFEATED HER MAGIC METABOLISM! SURE, IT'S ONLY LIKE FIVE POUNDS, BUT I WILL TAKE IT! THANK YOU GOD! MY BLOOD SACRIFICE IS IMMINENT!
JESSICA SIMPSON: (holds up sign reading: "It's just three pounds, but even if it were 35, I'd still be hotter than you, you tragic little desperado.")
MA SIMPSON: Don't be ridiculous. She's maybe just a little bloated, and she's still very pretty. Let's just put her in a car hop costume and hope for the best.
ASHLEE SIMPSON: WHY DOESN'T ANYONE LISTEN TO ME? I'M THE PRETTY ONE NOW AND YOU'RE STILL IGNORING ME! SHE CALLED ME TRAGIC! I'M NOT TRAGIC! You don't think I'm tragic, do you, mom?
MA SIMPSON: Huh? Oh, we thought you'd left. Run along and play, I have to brush Jessie's hair 1000 times now.
ASHLEE: I HATE YOU ALL!

agriculture students have it good

i just took a big walk from the arts building to kirk hall, only to find the girl i was meeting there not in her office, but off to an early lunch. wow. i had to look up a map on the university website just to find kirk hall, and secondly to map out my route there. i had to go from arts, to thorvaldson to geology to biology to agriculture to kirk hall, and not once did i have to venture outside. there are some things i love at this university! it was an interesting walk because rarely to i go into any other building besides arts and sometimes thorvaldson. geology is the building with all the dinosaurs in their lobby (and also a relatively new tim horton's which i was even more excited to see than the dinosaurs). but the ag building is really something. it is by far the nicest building on campus. i guess i do live in saskatchewan. its got this huge open lobby with beautiful greenery and trees and you can look up and see all the classrooms around, four or five stories high. and the whole thing is tinted green glass windows. and a glass elevator right in the center. the hallways are lined with paintings and pictures of farming landscapes and plants and animals and stuff. it's really a beautiful building. all the classrooms have brand new tables and matching black plastic chairs. i was hoping to see a couple of straight-from-the-farm boys with their oversized fertilizer company caps and flannel shirts and tapered, too tight wranglers, but alas i didn't see any of them. yah actually i didn't really see anybody, probably b/c it was right in between classes. anyway today i marvelled at all the learning there is to be had and how there are thousands and thousands of students here all engaged in some sort of specified learning subject and i'm just little me. i'm not learning about chemistry (i'm not asian afterall), or dinosaur bones or about plant cells or about genetically modified seed varieties or any of that important stuff. all these people have a career to look forward to after four years of university. well i hope they realize how lucky they are, that they did well in high school science. if i had really enjoyed grade 12 biology or had tried a little harder in chemistry, would i be one of these smart people? i realize i am now rambling, which doesn't actually make for good blogs, so sorry. i just continually find myself analyzing my choice of international development and hope that i will find something interesting and sucessful as well. i'm pretty sure i didn't come here to become a full time volunteer for the rest of my life.
anyway, the point of this blog is that the agriculture students have a damn nice building.

it's friday!

jann arden was AWESOME. i just loved her. she is so funny and a great performer. she sounds better in concert than on her albums. she is very down to earth. even jeff had a good time. he liked the fact that jann recognized her audience was mostly women and made a few jokes about the men that were dragged there. we had lots of fun and it felt nice to dress up and do something a little bit different. i wish i took some pictures.

denver's spooktacular party is on saturday night and i don't have a costume. i am hoping he will accept me dressed up as a stressed out student. yep that sounds good to me!

i'm done midterms but now i have a 4 assignments (which are each 6-8 pages, basically 4 essays), a presentation and two 12 page research papers to write in the next 3 weeks. that's insanity at its worst. i think i'm just gonna go to sleep and wake up when its all over.

let's get happier.....

things i am excited about

(in order of appearance from now until jan 1/06):

-spooktacular extravaganza 2005

-kristy-anne coming to visit next weekend

-nov long weekend when i get to go to a wedding and wear a pretty dress and have fun

-Cats

-december when classes are over and i get to make some money (even though working sucks)

-december in general b/c i can truly be excited for christmas

-dad's christmas presentation

-alison & leon coming to visit

-a weekend in winnipeg for jeff's staff christmas party, all expenses paid

-CHRISTMAS!!!! in calgary and in porcupine plain (thats gonna be a hard one to work out this year...)

-new years eve

-semester 1 ending, semester 2 beginning (i love brand new classes)

that's all i can think of at the top of my head, but i have to admit it made me feel better!

have a great weekend...

On my mind

I thought it was high time for an updated blog. Only problem... not a whole lot is going on these days :)

I've thought a whole lot about moving out this year. I've wanted to be on my own for the last few years and I think that maybe I'll actually do it this year. It just hardly makes any sense at all with my parents in the city... I'm saving myself thousands of dollars living at home. I just like to daydream about it...

The first thing I'd do is get a kitten. I can't have a cat at home b/c Edwin gave my mom asthma. So cats are kind of a no-no in our household. I'm pretty sure if I brought home a kitten my mom would give it away. So I haven't bothered since it would only lead to heartbreak, just like a bad boyfriend. Why do that to yourself? hehe.

The second thing I would do is go shopping for all my own cleaning supplies. I love cleaning... once I start,
I do it the whole afternoon. Last Saturday, I cleaned out Jeff's fridge. It's relaxing. Now anyone who has seen my room may be thinking to themselves, ummm that is not the Kristin I know... well it's true, I have a messy room. But when it comes to the rest of the house, I like it spotless. My room may be MESSY but it still is CLEAN. There is a difference.

Thirdly... I would go to Wal-Mart and get very cute bathroom accessories. Like a pink and yellow striped shower curtain and matching bathmat and towels and soap dish, etc. etc. Oh man it would be so cute and fun.
I don't need anything really for my bedroom. As it is now, I already have enough stuff in my room to fill a house with pictures, candles and photos. And lamps, I enjoy lamps. I'd set up a little office area with the new computer that I just bought, and I still have to go buy some new furniture that got ruined in the flood, like a desk and some bookshelves.

The kitchen would need the most work. I don't have a whole lot when it comes to kitchen gadgets. I have a table and chairs. But nothing like mixing bowls and all that crap. But that will come. All in good time my friends.

So I just realized that my last 3 entry's, including this one, have all been about imaginary things. Good thing my blog's name is "Imagine That" because I do a lot of dreaming.

my imaginary trip to california.

i wish i could take a vacation... somewhere hot and fun. california would be perfect right now. come now, let's all imagine this together....

we'll wake up in our 5 star hotel in anaheim on tomorrow morning, and walk across the street to disneyland. we'll meet all the best characters - cinderella, sleeping beauty and snow white. we'll walk straight to splash mountain. wait in line for no minutes because i am smart and got us all fast passes so we can skip most of the lineups. although the lineups are half the fun at disneyland because they are so detailed. they are pretty much part of the ride. then we're going to indiana jones, thunder mountain and space mountain. those are all my favorites. disneyland is so great because the rides are seriously just so fun. you laugh the entire time you're on them. oh i'm so jealous that my brother is going there again soon. after disneyland i'd go to california adventure where i'd work up the nerve to ride that freaking scary rollercoaster. oooooh man that is fun times. the rest of california adventure is kind of not worth the money. the actual disneyland park is more fun.

the next day, we're driving to hollywood and spending the day there. maybe hit all the stars' homes. and go to universal studios, which is not to be missed. there is so many cool things to see there. then i'd want to go to long beach for a day and shop the little board shops and tourist places and lie on the miles of sandy beaches. all we need is four or five days. i can't wait to meet some stars. we'll meet them while shopping on hollywood blvd. i'd like to have a few words with brad pitt anyway. i think we'll have to get a hotel in hollywood... the beverly hills hotel of course, nothing but the best, because we need lots of time here.

oh wait, while we're in california, we may as well take the 2 hour drive south to san diego. san diego is so beautiful. there is so much to do there too, so i guess we're staying another 5 days. the san diego zoo and sea world are must sees. we're spending an entire day on the island - coronado village - because the beach is gorgeous and you can windsurf and sightsee and do all sorts of fun things. time to go shopping and walk all around in seaport villlage and have lovely five star meals with beautiful ocean front views on the harbour. oh man i'm not kidding guys, my trip to san diego with my dad, regan and regan's dad was probably one of the best vacations i have ever had ever. i'm truly enjoying my memories here.

alright, so since i'm driving and this is imaginary, i give us an extra 4 days. now we're driving north again to san fransisco. i suppose i'd have to plan this better. i think we would START in san fran, then drive to LA then finish off in beautiful san diego. i have only been in san fran once before and it was only for an evening, and i tell you that's just not long enough. it's a very very cool city with so much to do.

wow, what a great trip this has been. i'm glad that we all went together because the more the merrier! it's been a little break from reality.

textbooks - *warning* - this is a boring post!

hello all...

i'm not sure what to talk about today! oh oh my. last night i bought myself "the pilgrim's progress" because i had started reading it once in bible college but never finished it. and last night dad and i went to parables to price something out for insurance, and the new "modern language" version is out and on sale, so i bought it. why the heck not i thought. so if you've read it, leave me a comment with some of your thoughts on it.

i love buying books. books books books. i love to have textbooks and reference books and biography's and really good works of fiction. lynnel has begun an impressive collection of classics, like pride & prejudice, wuthering heights and great expectations. between the two of us, we could have the beginning of a great library. i also really like to look at maps. if i was really rich and had a fancy house, i would absolutely love to have a room that i would call "the library" or "the study," just like in the game of clue. i would have the walls lined with dark cherry bookshelves, and a matching desk that would be huge. and all the bookshelves would be filled with books. and there would be big maps of the world from different centuries on the walls. ooh fantastic. and there would be a dark leather couch with lamps everywhere. and i would have a laptop. yah, so i hope i get my library/study someday.

wow at 12 the office always gets so nice and quiet. i love it like this.

yah so i've been totally browsing amazon.ca the last couple of days. i found every single one of my text books on there and i could essentially save myself over $100.00 if i bought on that site. although the thing is, i don't know how much i'd actually save when i start paying shipping and handling. and then there's the whole 3-5 week wait part - which isn't so bad if i bought them all now. and THEN there's the whole "do i really NEED that text book?" thing... this year i really gotta try to get as many cheap texts as possible. school is so expensive.

what a boring post this is. sorry guys i got nothing.

Summer bliss

***Everyone note that I have two new additions to the list,
two of my favorite girls,
Alison and Lynnel!!!***

A Toast:

To fun girls, good times and great blogs! A world apart, yet a click away!

Hahaha, I think I may have copied that from like a commercial or something? I don't know. I laughed outloud at myself there. Hello, marketing career?

I am done exams! I can't believe I had four in a row, it was absolutely exhausting. These last 4 weeks have been nothing but sheer brutalness. However I am just about done. By Wednesday, I will have everything for this year completed. This is simply the best news I have ever heard.

Mr. Kennedy is a superstar. He is giving me a third chance to complete my World Religions course, which I have put off for a long long time. I didn't even ask for it, he just told my mom to tell me to come and see him about it! That course has been a black cloud over my head for almost 2 years because I just never got around to finishing it and that is sort of unlike me. It was just a low priority on my list I guess.

Pretty soon I will stop talking about school on here, I bet you all can't wait!!!

Instead I will talk about funny old people who call Blue Cross, and hot summer weather, and bbq's and camping adventures! That is my summer line up. Jeff and I are hoping to go to Banff this summer, but I don't think I'll get enough time off at work for us to really have a great trip there, so up North will do. I've never camped at Waskesui so maybe we'll go there one weekend! Me and Lynnel and Janelle were talking on Sunday about an ALL GIRLS CAMPING TRIP.... anyone in?!! Girls that is ... it would be like our highschool girls trip with Tina and Regan! But funner because we are older and cooler now. And better campers too I'm sure. Pizza bushpies here we come!

Just no squirrel bites this year please... that was the grossest thing I have ever seen, last year camping with some friends... Barrett trying to coax the squirrel closer, closer, closer, GRABS IT, the squirrel flips out and goes to attack mode, HUGE mother bite into Barrett's hand, Barrett cries out in pain and flips the squirrel hanging on by its freaking TEETH back and forth, back and forth, goes flying into the fire and squeals at it burns to death!!!!

It makes me sick just writing about it. I had to go for a walk by myself that afternoon, to ensure that I wouldn't:
a) Faint in front of everyone
b) Puke everywhere in front of everyone

Luckily I did neither, but I am forever afraid of squirrels. Evil rotten beasts!!!

And now for my favorite...Trivia Blogsuit:

Which three cities in the world receive the most direct flights
into their airport each year?

Even if you don't know, take a wild guess!

Blog Reflections
Lately I have been thinking about something very serious. It's true. I just don't know what I should do about this. You see... I really want to change my template on my blog from very pink... to something not quite as pink. I'm just too scared I'll lose all my work. Oh sigh... maybe if Kristy-Anne wins a car with "Roll up the Rim to Win," I'll take it as a sign that perhaps I really should take a leap of faith and change the template. (See her blog if you don't know what I'm talking about).

Anyways, I have also realized something interesting about blogs. I think that I enjoy reading people's comments almost as much as reading people's entry's. They are really fun! Plus you can go "blog exploring" from one link to another, and you realize all the people you know that you didn't know they had a blog, and it can go on and on forever. Blogging is a very interesting way to interact with people if you ask me.

Grade 12 was a long time ago
I just watched a home video from the day I graduated high school, and it was really funny. I went to grad with Denver who was the hottest grad date of the year 2000, Lynnel and I even bought him a plaque. Haha. So in this video was me, Lynnel, Denver, Chad, David B., Oliver and Scott Newton. I should've taken all those boys to grad with me! That would've been a good time. But the video brought back lots of fun memories of high school with these people, and I'm glad that I'm still good friends with most of them... two of them have moved away so I don't keep in contact with them anymore, but still... memories are fond. Especially you Lynnard. Hehe, at least I didn't call you that OTHER nickname that Chad and I have for you! But Elim youth used to rock my world in high school. Sometimes I miss those times very much indeed.
