i heart shopping. and the bus.
i have a confession to make. i went to centre mall. i mean, the circle at centre and eighth (i don't want lynnel to accuse me of being an old lady again). and i shopped a teeny bit. but i have to say, the ONLY reason i went there was to get some pants hemmed....and it was only going to take 1 hour....so i figured i could have a minature look around.... and i only spent $10.00.... here's how it went down. i went to bluenotes, which i don't even like, but i had to buy new mitts - new mitts are OBVIOUSLY an exception to my rule because i lost one of my mitts and i live in the coldest place on earth. so that is completely okay. right? then i bought a shirt. it was $4.00. is that okay? i had to think it was. like $4.00! really. you could hardly buy a bottle of water for less than that...in disneyland at least. so THEN, i was strolling by la senza, and ladies, ladies you need to pay attention here, bras for $8.50 and undies 5 for $10.00.... it was simply an opportunity one cannot pass up. you all understand right? to make it more okay, i had a gift card that i recently found from 2005! yes over a year ago. so, once again, i believe my actions are justified because i had a gift card. are we all okay with this? i felt i had to confess my shopping sins on here. okay i'm better now, moving on.
i took the freaking bus today. as mentioned, i no longer have a car since the stupid head gasket blew, so i rely on my daddy and jeff and my sister, and my mom drove me once, although she is my least favorite driver because she tried to drop me off on the street in front of my work place! everyone else takes me right to the door. and when jeff drives me, we stop at starbucks. all expenses paid. ha. anyway, all have proved themselves faithful in this horrible situation i am in. until this morning. so the bus, it really isn't that bad:
Pros:
i like how it is 2 seconds away from my house and that it drops me off right in front of the university. i like how it is toasty warm inside and that the driver this morning was kind of cute. i like how it is full of university students and as far as i can tell, none of them are carrying guns or bombs (i've been scared of busses since speed came out. you can never be too careful!). i like how the seats look like they have been recently recovered, and that they say "saskatoon shines!" on them. i like how if i actually make it to the bus stop on time that i will make it to History 10 minutes early, not 20 minutes late like usual.
Cons:
i dont like how i don't know what stop is the best to get off at because the driver passed the street i needed to go down and i'm too scared to ask him if he is going to go onto waterbury drive or not and that i got off way too early and had to walk 10 minutes to actually get home. ha ha, i laughed at myself. the walk was nice though, except that i had forgotten my new mittens at home that morning. oh well. i also don't like how it takes 25 minutes to get to school and that it won't wait for me if i sleep in a bit. i don't like that this morning i skipped two classes because i was dreading figuring out how to take the bus and then when i actually tried it it was very easy. i suppose that is more a con towards myself though. i love to sleep in so much.
so yes it was a cultural experience this morning. i love thursdays because i'm done at 1 and i don't have class tomorrow so that means no tests, no papers and nothing due on fridays. AND it is Grey's Anatomy night and The Office and even the stupid O.C. which i haven't been watching this season but i still have a small part in my heart open to it. i just saw the preview for "The Hills" starting Feb 5 and i'm super duper excited about that. i heart the hills.
well, my sis is here with my sweet baby and boy so its time for me to babysit for a couple hours. bye now!

I used to take the bus all the time. The reason I didn't like it because I frequently daydream on the bus and frequently miss my stop all together. They don't turn around and go back when you do that.
taking the bus has never been a good experience for me. when i went to sfu, the bus was always full and so i would stand in the pouring rain at my stop and just watch the bus drive by. then i would be late for my class and have to sit in the front row of a giant auditorium. haven't taken a bus since! and i as well can't wait for the hills. from the previews i think we're in for a good season!
you are such a fun writer! lovely blog today. i quite enjoyed reading of your adventures.
