so much to say

it's the annual golf tournament here today (lovely day for golf).
jeff has a ball tournament all weekend - what if the weather is like this? i sure wouldn't be in a sports kind of mood. i guess i'm not all that sports minded in the first place. maybe that would help. although... lynnel and i have been faithful gym go-ers for the entire month of august so far. i have gone three times a week, and lynnel goes almost as much. yes its really a miracle, i'm sure most of you think i'm lying but i tell you the truth. anyway back to the ball tourny, i don't care if it rains all weekend because a couple of the players are renting a hot tub all weekend so we'll have some fun there. (too bad i didn't start working out in june.)

i went to jenna's house for lunch today and kayden was watching Dinosaur. i said "oh kayden look at all those dinosours", and he said "oh auntie, those aren't dinosaurs, those are carnitores!" i said "oh you mean carnivors?" and he said "no auntie, carnitores." well who the heck taught him what a "carnitore" is in the first place?!! what a smart boy. and then i taught him the word "energy" because he is full of it. he asked me if i was full of energy too and i said no, not as much as you are, and he was truly concerned. the eyebrow thing and everything.

school in 2.5 weeks!

oh right, three geography classes... take away that exclamation mark and turn it into a frown.

i get a very mini vacation from sept 2 - sept 6. it's mini because it includes the long weekend, plus friday and tuesday. vacations are never true if it includes a weekend, but i'm grateful for it anyway. soooo i'm going to yorkton thursday night to stay with tania for one night and then jeff and i are going to manitoba for the long weekend to camp. i sure hope it is sunny and HOT!!! we're going with his friends carl and kelly and they are some of my favorite camping people. this is our 2nd annual sept long weekend camping trip at.... i forget what its called. but still, it's fun.

anyone who was curious about how our house insurance worked out - we get 65% for all personal items. they are doing everything 100% when it comes to building, painting and carpet, this 65% is just our stuff. my mom and dad are happy because for things like our 10 year old leather couches, this is a steal of a deal, but its not the best for me because so many of my things are new, like my computer and furniture and stuff. oh well i am just happy i still get to do some shopping. i'll have a few hundred dollars to spend on clothes, but i think it'll end up just going to my text books this year. b-r-u-t-a-l. we fared a lot better than many of our neighbors who got anywhere from a whole lot of nothing to about 50%. and hey i got my entire wardrobe drycleaned for free which was nice, especially for my white poofy jacket from the gap and my grad dress and actually all my fancy dresses. and i'm so excited about the new carpet that is going in, it's so comfy. it's like cushions for my feet. what luxery.

i had ANOTHER car accident last weekend. this one is a little more serious than my fender bender in may that didn't account to anything. no larry filed a claim against me this time. oh larry don't you know that i'm a student? larry was a jerk. he told me "don't want to scare you or anything but a guy hit me a month ago and it cost him $3300 bucks."

thanks larry, $3300 bucks doesn't scare me. i'd love to spend as much money as it costs for a year of school on your damn truck. pardon me.

well scary larry doesn't have package policy and i asked him why not and do you know what larry said? "generally i'm a good driver." what a loser. luckily i have a package policy so i only gottta pay my $200. i think thats how it works anyway. pleeeeaaaasssse let it work that way!!!

well, this is long enough now. bye for now!

mah jong

mah jong - my favorite game ever... i finally found a version of it on the internet that gives you more than a 14 day trial - it's free always. check her out:
http://www.by-art.com/mjong/mjong.php

i just stopped this blog just so i could play a round. but i'm back now.

so i'm pleased that it is friday. not that i have big plans this weekend or anything. jeff and i are going to the air show on saturday, but that's about it. last weekend was more fun because we went to the Ex and saw the chuckwagons and the demolition derby. OH MAN i just love those car derby's and i love the chuckwagons. it was too much fun for one day. we were there from 2:00 when the chuckwagons started, till about 10:00pm, when the derby ended. in between we did all the other Ex stuff you have to do. and jeff bought me a $5.00 caramel apple. yummy.

great so this is another blog that is going nowhere...

blog of the week: jenna's latest post. it's all over the place but i enjoyed it a lot.

so thats all for now, i think mah jong has dulled my brain.

On my mind

I thought it was high time for an updated blog. Only problem... not a whole lot is going on these days :)

I've thought a whole lot about moving out this year. I've wanted to be on my own for the last few years and I think that maybe I'll actually do it this year. It just hardly makes any sense at all with my parents in the city... I'm saving myself thousands of dollars living at home. I just like to daydream about it...

The first thing I'd do is get a kitten. I can't have a cat at home b/c Edwin gave my mom asthma. So cats are kind of a no-no in our household. I'm pretty sure if I brought home a kitten my mom would give it away. So I haven't bothered since it would only lead to heartbreak, just like a bad boyfriend. Why do that to yourself? hehe.

The second thing I would do is go shopping for all my own cleaning supplies. I love cleaning... once I start,
I do it the whole afternoon. Last Saturday, I cleaned out Jeff's fridge. It's relaxing. Now anyone who has seen my room may be thinking to themselves, ummm that is not the Kristin I know... well it's true, I have a messy room. But when it comes to the rest of the house, I like it spotless. My room may be MESSY but it still is CLEAN. There is a difference.

Thirdly... I would go to Wal-Mart and get very cute bathroom accessories. Like a pink and yellow striped shower curtain and matching bathmat and towels and soap dish, etc. etc. Oh man it would be so cute and fun.
I don't need anything really for my bedroom. As it is now, I already have enough stuff in my room to fill a house with pictures, candles and photos. And lamps, I enjoy lamps. I'd set up a little office area with the new computer that I just bought, and I still have to go buy some new furniture that got ruined in the flood, like a desk and some bookshelves.

The kitchen would need the most work. I don't have a whole lot when it comes to kitchen gadgets. I have a table and chairs. But nothing like mixing bowls and all that crap. But that will come. All in good time my friends.

So I just realized that my last 3 entry's, including this one, have all been about imaginary things. Good thing my blog's name is "Imagine That" because I do a lot of dreaming.

my imaginary trip to california.

i wish i could take a vacation... somewhere hot and fun. california would be perfect right now. come now, let's all imagine this together....

we'll wake up in our 5 star hotel in anaheim on tomorrow morning, and walk across the street to disneyland. we'll meet all the best characters - cinderella, sleeping beauty and snow white. we'll walk straight to splash mountain. wait in line for no minutes because i am smart and got us all fast passes so we can skip most of the lineups. although the lineups are half the fun at disneyland because they are so detailed. they are pretty much part of the ride. then we're going to indiana jones, thunder mountain and space mountain. those are all my favorites. disneyland is so great because the rides are seriously just so fun. you laugh the entire time you're on them. oh i'm so jealous that my brother is going there again soon. after disneyland i'd go to california adventure where i'd work up the nerve to ride that freaking scary rollercoaster. oooooh man that is fun times. the rest of california adventure is kind of not worth the money. the actual disneyland park is more fun.

the next day, we're driving to hollywood and spending the day there. maybe hit all the stars' homes. and go to universal studios, which is not to be missed. there is so many cool things to see there. then i'd want to go to long beach for a day and shop the little board shops and tourist places and lie on the miles of sandy beaches. all we need is four or five days. i can't wait to meet some stars. we'll meet them while shopping on hollywood blvd. i'd like to have a few words with brad pitt anyway. i think we'll have to get a hotel in hollywood... the beverly hills hotel of course, nothing but the best, because we need lots of time here.

oh wait, while we're in california, we may as well take the 2 hour drive south to san diego. san diego is so beautiful. there is so much to do there too, so i guess we're staying another 5 days. the san diego zoo and sea world are must sees. we're spending an entire day on the island - coronado village - because the beach is gorgeous and you can windsurf and sightsee and do all sorts of fun things. time to go shopping and walk all around in seaport villlage and have lovely five star meals with beautiful ocean front views on the harbour. oh man i'm not kidding guys, my trip to san diego with my dad, regan and regan's dad was probably one of the best vacations i have ever had ever. i'm truly enjoying my memories here.

alright, so since i'm driving and this is imaginary, i give us an extra 4 days. now we're driving north again to san fransisco. i suppose i'd have to plan this better. i think we would START in san fran, then drive to LA then finish off in beautiful san diego. i have only been in san fran once before and it was only for an evening, and i tell you that's just not long enough. it's a very very cool city with so much to do.

wow, what a great trip this has been. i'm glad that we all went together because the more the merrier! it's been a little break from reality.

textbooks - *warning* - this is a boring post!

hello all...

i'm not sure what to talk about today! oh oh my. last night i bought myself "the pilgrim's progress" because i had started reading it once in bible college but never finished it. and last night dad and i went to parables to price something out for insurance, and the new "modern language" version is out and on sale, so i bought it. why the heck not i thought. so if you've read it, leave me a comment with some of your thoughts on it.

i love buying books. books books books. i love to have textbooks and reference books and biography's and really good works of fiction. lynnel has begun an impressive collection of classics, like pride & prejudice, wuthering heights and great expectations. between the two of us, we could have the beginning of a great library. i also really like to look at maps. if i was really rich and had a fancy house, i would absolutely love to have a room that i would call "the library" or "the study," just like in the game of clue. i would have the walls lined with dark cherry bookshelves, and a matching desk that would be huge. and all the bookshelves would be filled with books. and there would be big maps of the world from different centuries on the walls. ooh fantastic. and there would be a dark leather couch with lamps everywhere. and i would have a laptop. yah, so i hope i get my library/study someday.

wow at 12 the office always gets so nice and quiet. i love it like this.

yah so i've been totally browsing amazon.ca the last couple of days. i found every single one of my text books on there and i could essentially save myself over $100.00 if i bought on that site. although the thing is, i don't know how much i'd actually save when i start paying shipping and handling. and then there's the whole 3-5 week wait part - which isn't so bad if i bought them all now. and THEN there's the whole "do i really NEED that text book?" thing... this year i really gotta try to get as many cheap texts as possible. school is so expensive.

what a boring post this is. sorry guys i got nothing.

the dealio

first of all i'd like to congratulate my blog on 10,000 hits. you are so pretty now that you have had a makeover and your owner is so interesting and funny. i'm sure that she is as pretty as you are, little miss blog. thanks for being such a great read.

alright now that my tribute to my blog is done, moving on.

let's talk insurance. so the dealio was - take all your clothes to the drycleaners and then when you get them all back, anything that is stained, shrunk or ruined can be claimed. so we do that. thank GOODNESS lynnel and i made a huge list of my clothes that were wrecked before sending them off to be cleaned. because according to the drycleaners, everything i sent in has been cleaned and returned. however i started thinking - "now where are my favorite jeans" and "hey its camping time, where are my husky shorts" and finally, "what the heck else is missing here??" so i go back to my list of stuff and there are about 25 items missing from the drycleaners. wow what is THAT?! if we hadn't made a list, i would have no idea what was still missing. so good for us smarty pants girls. and we were both blonde at the time too!!! hehe. anyway i guess i just get to claim all the missing stuff too.

the fringe festival starts tonight. that's kind of fun. and i can't wait for the Ex. i love to go to all the silly shows, like the dog show, the talent show, the hypnotist guy, last year there was the chuckwagon races and the demolition car derby it was so much fun! i love cars bashing into each other it's so funny.

i'm loving big brother 6 so much. i love the "cool" group so much. i hope that if i were on big brother, i would be on james and sarah and kaysar and janelle and howie and rachel's team. they are WAY cooler than maggie. although i like jennifer and april. kaysar is the hottest muslim man i have ever seen. i can't stand maggie or yvette. oooh they drive me nuts! i laugh so much when they start talking about the "bad guys," like that is so dumb. i don't know yet who i want to win. i really like rachel and sarah. they sure don't say a whole lot about beau.

canadian idol - like who on earth is voting for josh palmer? that guy is brutal. i can't wait till he's off.

i went to jenna's house on my lunch break today. i didn't have it until 2:00 so i ate my lunch on one of my morning breaks this morning. jenna and i sat on her deck for almost the whole hour. it was so sunny and beautiful. i can't wait for the day when i get to have little babies at home and i can be a stay-at-home mom for a year. i'm sure by the time that year ends i'll be so ready to also go back to work. it'd be so nice to stay at home sometimes.

speaking of jenna, tomorrow is her 21st birthday, so make sure you say happy birthday to her.

CELEBRATION!

hair, holidays & highways

ladies: i need some sort of hair "smoothing" product - it must be light and non greasy/oily. i just want to make my hair shinier (if thats possible, muwhahah) and have zero frizzies. suggestions, please?

so far i'm enjoing being a lovely brunette. a girl at work here said she watched this documentary where they dyed the hair of a guy and a girl blonde for one day and brunette the next, and sent them out to compare reactions and attitudes. well apparently the blondes got more attention and flattery. the brunettes got more respect.

we'll see about that i guess.

i've had a couple people say they prefer me as a blonde and that is fine. the most important thing to me is that i've actually finally tried it. it won't stay forever probably so no need to wory.

well for those who don't care about my hair, let's move on to the next topic.

i had a great great weekend. i know i said we were going to greenwater but we ended up at anglin lake on friday night with renae and andrew and their cute little 2 year old son xander. then on saturday morning we headed to marean lake and stayed at a cabin there that was way to small for the 12 people and a four month old baby that stayed there! oh but we had a good time. sat night we went "glow golfing." i'm talking real golf, not mini golf, where the golf ball and the green glowed in the dark. everyone was given glow sticks that you could see for miles so that the group behind you didn't start golfing until you were gone. it was fricken fun. sunday and monday we spent the whole day at the beach, boating, tubing and waterskiing and suntanning, just the way summer is meant to be spent. at the lake. we ate like kings - steaks and ribs and potatoes and salads, not to mention midnight hot dog roasts. mmm hotdogs. it was wicked fun.

on our way home on monday jeff showed off his highway mastery to me. seriously that boy knows his saskatchewan highways. half the time we were driving on grid roads, then another time he went in the opposite direction that saskatoon was pointing and we ended up taking a ferry across the river and ended up on a different highway and made it home faster than ever. yes i was impressed. and the little mini ferry was fun too. (carmen - do you remember on our way home from sylvan lake that year and we took a ferry in alberta with my family? that whole trip was so much fun!).

i'm so excited that this week is already half over. this summer is flying by, it's already august. hard to believe.

who even knows what this fall will hold?!?!?
